How do we ensure that the seeds we sow will grow, flourish and come to fruition.
Simple answer – intention, action and patience.
The shift is coming, can you feel it?
I am not one to wish time away but this winter has been exceptionally gray and I am looking forward to the dawn of spring. A beautiful time of renewal and cleansing. Muddy ground, the smell of earthworms and hopefully, sunshine.
Mother Earth will rise from her slumber, giving all life (human and otherwise) a fresh burst of energy, putting a spring in our step (no pun intended) to embrace a new chapter in 2023. Alas, March brings the much-awaited Spring Equinox.
All of the soul-searching, reflection and healing you’ve done over the winter months has prepared you for the seeds you’re about to sow this spring.
Think of yourself as a beautiful garden.
Lush earth just ready to receive seeds of loving intention, creativity, and change. What you plant now, literally and figuratively, will be the bounty of your harvest this fall.
So, where do you start? We can all daydream about what we want to see in the future, a new love interest, a healthier diet -and I don’t just mean what you put in your body, but also your environment, a new job, new home. All of these are wonderful but how do we get there? How do we ensure that the seeds we sow will grow, flourish and come to fruition.
Simple answer – intention, action and patience.
If you don’t know by now, I’m a crystal girl. Mother Earth is the original creator of our most precious jewelry and I am here for every single shiny, rough, smooth, colourful (or not) gem that she provides for us. Each one of those creations has a purpose and connects with us on a physical, emotional, mental or spiritual level.
The last couple months of 2022 were difficult for me. I lost a friendship, was penalized for other people’s insecurities, and as a result I lost my drive and motivation to create. I lost me.
I don’t share this for sympathy, we all have stuff we’re going through. I share it because I believe in transparency and to let those who are going through something similar know they are not alone.
In this time of darkness, when all else seemed hopeless I turned to crystals to help me once again find the light. Now don’t get me wrong. Things are still not perfect, but they’re better and I think that’s all any of us can hope for, to be better. To be able to step forward so the next harvest doesn’t look like the last.
For days I kept my Selenite nearby. Selenite, in my opinion, is a hugely undervalued specimen. Known for its incredible calming properties, Selenite raises the vibration of your space and brings in the light, dispelling negativity, helping to remove energetic blocks. It is a low maintenance stone; it is self-cleansing and acts as an energetic cleanser for other crystals as well as the space it resides in and for the person working with it. Without a doubt, Selenite helped pull me through some really hard days.
In addition to Selenite, I also renewed my relationship with Black Tourmaline. A jet-black rough specimen that has the incredible ability to reduce fear, help alleviate trauma and in my particular case assist with mental health healing. The combination of these stones, along with a lot of deep breathing and meditation certainly helped pave the path to get me where I am today. While I wholeheartedly believe in crystals and their potential for healing, it’s important to note that crystal healing should be used as a complement to other therapies and not as a replacement for medical treatment, examination, diagnosis or therapy.
Looking towards spring I am once again leaning on my crystals for inspiration, ambition and the courage to move forward. I’ve moved some Rainbow Moonstone into my sacred space, a stone of new beginnings, excellent for meditation, bringing in balance and harmony. Rainbow Moonstone acts as an aura shield against unwanted energies and aligns our etheric and physical bodies. A beautifully gentle crystal that acts as a stepping stone for change.
The spring equinox is a time for creativity, and my favourite stone to help get the creative energy flowing is Carnelian. Varying in the colours of orange, red, pink and brown, Carnelian connects directly to our sacral chakra, a feel-good stone that boosts self-confidence, ignites personal power and instills courage. Sitting with Carnelian makes me feel inspired, and gives me the push I need to put plans into action.
Since I am easily distracted, I also keep Fluorite close by. Holy Mack, do you see the squirrel in that tree? It’s HUGE! I wonder what kind of tree that is. Do squirrels have a favourite tree? What was I talking about again, oh right, crystals to help keep my mind focused.
Fluorite provides mental clarity, allowing you to focus on the tasks at hand. It’s also a useful stone for absorbing negative emotions, and any of those yucky feelings of self-doubt that creep up from time to time. I wonder if squirrels have a favourite crystal too…
Spring will be here before we know so it’s time for you to hunker down and make your spring wish list and if you can, call on the healing properties of crystals to help manifest all of your highest good intentions.
If you wish to be kinder to yourself, reach for a piece of Rose Quartz. It brings kindness and compassion. Maybe you wish to increase your cash flow, keep some Citrine and Pyrite in your wallet or near your piggy bank, but be careful these are abundance stones, so don’t keep them near anything you owe money on, like bills! Perhaps you’re quick to react and your goal is to not jump to anger, carry a piece of Howlite with you, it helps you express your emotions with calm communication and reduces stress and anger.
Whatever seeds you choose to sow this March, do so with an open mind and a full heart. Keep your chin up, gaze at the sun and be ready to spring forward with loving intention.
Love, Gratitude & Magick,
AJ
